The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Los Angeles branch, ensuring the secure, efficient flow of shipments in and out of the U.S. This includes managing import/export, vault, and domestic logistics teams. The role reports to the General Manager and acts as second-in-command, ensuring smooth operations, regulatory compliance, and team performance. Occasional weekend work and travel (e.g., trade shows, training) are required.
Lead day-to-day operations across import, export, domestic sort, and vaulting functions.
Manage, train, and develop staff; oversee scheduling, performance, and compliance.
Ensure all operations meet company, airline, and federal regulatory standards.
Drive process improvement through SOP development, LEAN practices, and technology use.
Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Service, Sales, Security, Fleet, IT) and external partners to support seamless logistics.
Monitor costs, productivity, and KPIs; recommend efficiency and asset improvements.
Conduct operational audits and inspections to ensure safety, security, and accuracy.
Oversee LAX SIDA badge compliance and vault inventory management.
Serve as acting branch leader in the General Manager's absence.
Required:
5+ years of management experience in logistics or freight forwarding (preferably secure or high-value environments).
3+ years in a related operational role (driver, dispatcher, or messenger).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics software (e.g., BITS, Garcia).
Must be 21+ with a valid driver's license and ability to obtain guard and weapons permits.
Flexibility for overtime and varied work hours.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field.
